Where It Hurts, It Heals
This work originates from my personal medical experience of undergoing multiple surgeries to remove fibromas. The pain and the visible scars became not only physical marks but also emotional burdens. Through art, I sought to transform this process of wounding and stitching into a form of healing.
By depicting the surgical sutures and the rawness of scars, I confronted their perceived ugliness and gradually learned to accept them as part of my body’s narrative. The act of reimagining these marks in visual form turns pain into resilience, and fragility into beauty. This work stands as both a record of suffering and a testament to the possibility of healing through artistic practice.
